- One day or two in Camargue and around Arles -

- Arles, this town with its numerous Roman ruins (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
   Central Arles is a relaxed place of intimate squares and sunny terraced brasseries. 
  Van Gogh produced here many of his celebrated works drawing inspiration 
  from the town, the river and the surrounding landscape. 
  Life seems to be centered around the Ferias and the Bull fighting events in the 
  Roman arenas.

- On the way, the Montmajour Abbey, Pre Roman buildings, crypt of XIth century
  unique in Provence, cloister of XIIth where the Dominicans have prayed for centuries.

- Sainte Marie De La Mer, seaside-charming village centred around the fortified 
  XIIth century. 
  In June beautiful celebration of the Black Virgin by hundreds of travelling people 
  from all over Europe.

- The Camargue, beautiful alluvial plain of the Rhone Delta, mosaic of wetlands 
  (a national nature reserve since 1927). Host of many fragile ecosystems and exceptional
  amount of biological diversity: 400 species of birds, flocks of pink flamingos.
  Territory of the extraordinary Bull of Camargue, often selected for the bull fightings.

- Aigues Mortes, town fortified by King Louis IX in 1240, was the departure point for 
  the Crusades. 
  Jewel carefully set in stoned walls. Medieval ramparts, turrets and massive bastions.
